same thing happened to me the first time i went there.. i went this previous weekend and wasnt so lucky. it is illegal to go inside i foundout first hand when four of athens finest caught us.. luckily they let us go, i guess because they new we werent going in for any reason other than to look around. the police officers said that it is very dangerous. they have problems with homeless, prostitution, and drugs inside. someone was actually murdered there 3 years ago, the officer said, so knowing that i wouldnt set foot in there again

im a fireman in athens, i grew up here, we train in the old hospital i never seen a ghost!!! i was also a member of the jaycee’s and we done a haunted house in the hospital and never seen a ghost…? i drive by the old hospital daily….inever seen a ghost…..as for all the devil worshiping and ghost sightings it’s really simple , transient persons do spend there time there because its easy to get into the place and who would ever go in there to make them leave? kids and teens go in there just for kicks and paint it up or tag it…thats all it is…sorry to bust your ghost/devil story. but good luck with the movie…. p.s fuller park nothing to it been deep in it at all hours of the night just for fun and never seen anything or heard anything other than just vandalism. and as for the tunnels under the city! there simply not there but it makes for a great mystery i guess.

I’ve just been on the outside of the building with my husband. Went during the day and night. Super creepy even during the daytime. I’ve heard that there is asbestos inside the building so that is mainly why we didnt go inside. And one of our deputy friends said that it is illegal to go inside the building and he has arrested people for going inside there. Probably because some of the people who went in were up to no good,like drugs and what not. I have also heard that medical supplies were just left in the building whenever the new hospital was built. I find old buildings interesting so that is mainly why I wanted to go inside. The building itself(the older part) seems to just loom over you and look down on you,and watch every move that you make.

I heard something like they were going to tear down the old hospital.. its sad.. it has a crazy history! Me and my friends went in it just for kicks and whatnot and didnt really have any ghost incounters but, we did see some freaky things! We saw a dog collar on a counter and then a dog carcas that had been mutualated. it was so sad! we also saw old wheelchairs, hospital gowns, some medical supply(nothing dangerous)…but there was also some gross things in there to like used condoms, drug needles, and other stuff.. so it was a thrilling, gross, yet scary experience!

Ok. First of all the old hospital is weird. I have never seen anything too strange, just the kind of stuff that goes on in old abandoned buildings. Course, I have to see to believe, but I wouldn’t say Athens isn’t strange. Fullers Park-never been there except on the streets outside of it. But I will tell you this, 2 very reliable people have told me that it’s a dangerous place to go. Both of these men don’t scare easily and neither will take me there. I don’t know about ghosts but some kind of worshiping does take place there, confirmed by my relative, and that’s all he will say! I personally had a strange occurance in Athens.

my husband worked for Henderson County before he died and was in the old hospital alot as the county was trying to get it ready for sale..he never mentioned ghosts or sitings, just derelicts, kids and sadly a lot of wasted space full of asbestos

well i have never been anywhere in the old hospital or fullers park. i have been over the old monkey bridge and beck’s chapel…… athens has alot of history that “some” ppl don’t want us too know!!!!! yes if you fly over athens it is in the shape of a pentagram, all of the witches and devil worshippers that reside and preside over henderson county and city officials that work in athens. the underground tunnels are true over the kountry kick klub, koon kreek klub, and alot of the businesses are ran by these witches and devil worshippers, it’s also a tale about a family that lives near eustaces that alot of ppl will not get caught after dark down there. koon kreek klub or surrounding area is another town under water!!!! i could go on and on, but some know and some don’t!!!!!!

Yesterday my friend, his mom, and I, went into the Henderson County Memorial Hospital and Fuller Park. In the hospital, all the cealing tiles and parts of walls have been remeoved due to asbestos clean ups. There is graffiti absolutely everywhere including pentagrams and “666” which were pretty common. It is obvious that the homeless often sleep there as there are bags and blankets in certain rooms. There is one room that is obviously used for takiong narcotics because there are mirrors all over the walls and spray-painted spirals and other eye-tricks. We never ran into anyone. Although, a black cat literally fell from the ceiling scaring us to death. Fuller Park is a different story. Immediately you will notice the about four-foot stone wall that surrounds the park. This wall is broken and crumbled in many places, making it pretty easy to get in on foot. The forrest is extremely dense inside the park, making navigation near impossible off of the trails, but luckily there is a dirt road that goes pretty deep. The first thing we saw was a possible ritual area to the left of the dirt road with burnt logs and jars and cans of different chemicals. Then to the right was the gravesite of the Fullers, surrounded by a low stone wall and a huge iron chain. The gravesite was, unfortunatley, very vandalized and beaten-up. The headstone of Mrs. Fuller has been kicked down and tagged with graffiti. If you go further, to the end of the dirt road, you will find a narrow trail off to the right. Follow this trail, and it takes you to the “Monkey Cage” it is very obvious. Inside we found several spots where fires had been burned not too long ago. No evidence of rituals, though. We walked a little further into the park, but we had to turn around, because nightfall was near and we are not ready to be there after dark. I hope this helps! Leave me comments on where the tunnel entrance is or if i have false information.

I have been to the graves in Fuller’s Park and in the old hospital numerous times. My dad worked for the new hospital and they used the old one for storage so he took my siblings and i in there quite a bit. We never really had anything happen to us in there, just a creepy feeling being in there, but I was probably 9 the first time I ever went in there. As for the tunnels, I have heard there is one in fullers park, the country club, the court house, and one down a well in the backyard of a house on the corner of 19 and clinton. The rumor’s I heard was a kid was kidnapped from that house and taken down the well and scaraficed out at fuller’s park. I don’t believe that at all, just stories to scare us. I’ve lived in Athens my whole life, and I don’t think there is any witch craft or whatever that goes on here. This town is too full of bible thumpers to have any witches. Unless it’s all a front, which doesn’t seem to far a stretch for “Christians.”

Well I’ll tell you one thing, I have ne’er Been to Fullers park but I no it’s haunted, and the old Athens hospital its haunted I went there at dark didnt even go all the way in there. I went in there once and took off running. I walked up there getting ready Togo in and I heard, a little girl singing, I looked in he inside and seen a little girl walking slowly past me looking at me!! Soooo freaky! I started screaming and this is no lie that’s one thingg I don’t do

I went inside the hospital around 2010 and took pictures all over. After reviewing them later at home I found one picture, where in the bottom right corner plain as day, you could see the back of a little girls head with a ponytail. I still have the photos

As of now our football team from Cross Roads is holding a haunted house in the old hospital…. this is your chance to go nose around while you can. As far as Fuller’s Park we are going to plan a trip there…. ill take my camera and see what happens….

when i went in the hospital it didn’t seem odd but as me and my mom walked around it got a little weird there were some cold spots and a weird feeling came over me when we were in the surgical ward it was like strong pressure in my chest and it got a little hard to breath also i was with Nathan who commented above and the cat literally fell like 2 ft from landing on him. there were some cophins and i slowly opened one and saw a body but as i opened more it was a detailed dummy. we also heard noises like door creaking and metal banging. its been about a year since i went and my house has been weirding me out since the trip to the hospital like a football helmet in my floor was rocking back in forth ,my door slammed and i got a strange shadow on video. my cat was freaking out and trying to catch the shadow but it diapered over my doorway. i would also recommend the hospital to any thrill seekers but don’t do anything stupid in there because your more likely to get off with a warning for being curious than vandalism.

I was a patient there for a tonsillectomy when I was 13, again 7 years later for a miscarriage, and in 1984 for my first child. Lots of nightmares, but no ghosts.
